# Defining conditions for completing a step

Adopt guides your application visitors via step-by-step on-screen guides. You can define what user actions will trigger the step completion so they can move on to the next step. These requirements, or step completion conditions, usually consist of interacting with the step either by entering value or clicking on a provided button. There are multiple step completion conditions to choose from in the Adopt editor.
