# Mouse Click

<figure><img src="/files/OWWV74p36vKj47A6pKh3" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Clicking on an element triggers the event (in this case, the event is completing the current step). When a user clicks on an any element, the following three mouse events occur:

1. The **mouse down** command fires when you depress the mouse button on the element
2. The **mouse up** fires when you let go of the mouse button on the element
3. The click is fired when one **mouse down** and one **mouse up** are detected over the same element&#x20;

***Note:** You can combine the Next and Previous buttons and any of the triggers demonstrated here, so that the user will have an option either to complete the task at hand or skip it.*

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs-adopt.nexthink.com/in-application-guidance/defining-conditions-for-completing-a-step/a-step-is-complete-when/interaction-selection/mouse-click.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
