# Setting fallback language

If the user’s language is not in the list of offered languages, Adopt displays the guides in the predetermined **fallback language.**

***Note:** Adopt recommends that you add as many languages as you wish (depending on the application user or visitor profiles) while setting the fallback language as the most commonly used language. The fallback language can only be selected from the default language or the languages you have added. If you need to choose a different fallback language than what is available in the list, you must add it first.*

You can set the fallback language by selecting it from the dropdown menu amongst the languages added.
